Four months.
I have been a mom for 4 months. My daughter has had a mom for 4 months. This period of time is just a blink of an eye really. Still, it is amazing all that has changed or is on the verge of change in such a short time.
I very clearly remember times past when periods of great stress would arise in life...illness, family surgeries, personal situations, financial setbacks...you name it. I STILL remember thinking. "Wow, I am glad (insert dilemma here) happened before I became a mom. At least I don't have to worry about how I would manage her too right now." How short-sighted I was. It is so sad how much I really didn't 'get' how it would really be.
Now, on the other side of motherhood and having had a storm of family/personal dilemmas tossed at me these past months I can honestly say I don't know who that person was who thought "Thank goodness I don't have to manage a child too right now." Sure, it is hard at times to muddle through the day-to-day stresses. I think each of us can admit to that. But, now, I can 100% say it is that very child I was thankful I didn't have to 'figure out' who gets me through the tough stuff with even more resolve. She keeps my head on straight and reminds me of what really matters every minute of every day. I really underestimated the power of motherhood. It can kick a gal's backside up over her shoulders but, at the end of the day, there is nothing in this world better. Nothing.
I am still growing into it all as is my sweet girl. I must say I am very pleased with where we are after four short months and look so forward to the next four and beyond. I don't get it 'all right' but I am blessed with a forgiving girl who seems to think I'm pretty groovy anyway. The feeling is mutual.

Happy 4 months..
Seems like yesterday..
And you are a WONDERFUL Mommy.. you would have done wonderful if you would have had her at that time..
Everything happens for a reason..
Have a great week..
hugs..
Who DOES get it all right?!?!!! Y'all look pretty darn good from my side of the computer. Happy four months together.
Four months already? Where does the time go?!
Happy 4 months together. That went by super quick!
she has the cutest grin ever! love it!!!
NOBODY gets it all right. I think you would be a freak of nature if you did. Well, you kind of are anyway, but that's a whole other story....;-)
Glad it's all going well! It gets easier as the days go by, I've found, although there are still some bad days. Still, when the good outweighs the bad, I'll take it! :-)
{{She keeps my head on straight and reminds me of what really matters every minute of every day.}}
Best quote ever. I have felt like this more times than I can count.
I am glad y'all are doing well. I hope your dad is getting better too.
She is a cutie!
As someone just watching from the distant sidelines it sure seems like you "get it" and are doing a great job. You seem so much farther along than I was after four months. I was pretty much a hot mess but thankfully, my girl is very forgiving.
After a tough day....There is NOTHING like the feeling you get when that little face looks up at you and smiles. It makes everything better!
Happy 4 months together!!

Happy 4 months together!!
ahhhhhhhhhhhh, Motherhood.
Ain't it grand?!
You guys have been heavily on my mind.
Miss you.
I think you are both pretty groovy. :) I am so happy that you are both doing so well after 4 months. It really does go by in a blink of an eye. Briana has been with me almost two years - I can't believe it. And you are right, Motherhood is TOUGH sometimes, but there really isn't anything better.
You rock.
LOVE, LOVE this post. So very true. I love that you are experiencing this.
Hope to see you soon!
I miss you, and I think about you all the time... seriously. I send out my "good vibes" to you every chance I get, too :)
Love ya girl... BOTH you girls :)
No one ever gets it ALL right. You do the best that you can with what you know. It seems to me, that you are doing a fantastic job, my friend.
Sounds like you are weathering the storm with grace and perspective. I am so glad you and your darling girl are with each other and that things continue to progress. It's amazing to look back when you get to each of these month markers.
Hope you and your family are doing ok. Thinking about you all.
I so agree......my kids get me thru everything better....Congratulations to you on 4 months!!
Excellent post! And thanks for saying it since I've had some scared shitless "what am I getting myself into" moments here lately. I personally needed to hear that reassurance. :)
Ditto to what you wrote... I couldn't have articulated it any better myself!!! Being a mom rocks!
Amen! Happy first four months together!
Happy Four Months as Mommy!
I keep repeating myself, but it gets better each day!
Our daughters are so precious, a gift, a blessing!
Happy 4th!
Alyzabeth's Mommy for 9.5 Months!
Happy 4 months together....therereally is nothing any better than a semi toothless grin looking up at you...lol!!!
Wonderful post! Happy 4 months to you both!! Enjoy this first holiday with your gal!! Happy 4th of July!
:0) <-- that is what I'm doing right now.
None of us "get it" right all the time. Heck, I don't know that I can honestly say I've gotten it "right" half the time. But, like you, I can honestly say that I give it my best every single day and thank goodness for the forgiveness of a child who loves unconditionally.
You are most definitely a groovy gal as is Miss C
Happy 4 months!!
Wow...your post was such an eye-opener! I have been guilty often of uttering the same words you have. Your message is such a blessing and encouragement!!
You and your girly are an amazing team mommy!
Happy Four months!
Does "all right" ever happen?
good to hear
happy 4 months - can't believe it's been that long
Happy 4 months Momma !! Here's to some less stressful times for the two of you. thanks for the update.
Happy 4 mos. Time sure has flown. I think you are incredible mom and Miss C. is an incredible daughter.
Someone should definitely write a user's manual for this parenting stuff though. It is really tough some days (lol). :)
Hugs,
Jonni
