Short and sweet...

I 've got a lot of plates spinning right now so I'll go into detail at another time. But, the short answer is that I feel WORLDS better about things after our ped visit today. I still have niggling concerns but I can be like that ;0) Overall, I couldn't have expected to hear better news.

Back when I get some down time....

PS with some friendly advice: If possible, avoid having your kiddo vaccinated the day before you return to work. Ugh! Let's see...vaccines, teething, adjusting....oh my!

I've been reading your blog for about six months now and have to say, "Been there, done that." My hubby and I adopted our son from Russia in 2006. We went through the same questions and concerns in regard to attaching and building a relationship with our son.

I would HIGHLY recommend the book, "Parenting your Internationally Adopted Child" by Patty Cogen. She tells it straight, and will tell you what to expect through the teen years.

She's also an AP. You can reach me through my blog: http://betheesnextstep.blogspot.com

You are not alone.

I'm so happy to hear that you received some reassurance today. I just love CW's Easter photo, what a little hambone !!! Sounds like you and CW are on the "right" road.

Yay!! So happy to hear things went well yesterday.

Praying for both of you today as you head back to work and your sweet Claire enjoys some playtime at daycare. Teeth and vacs = yuck!! Hopefully the fun will keep her mind off the owies!

Vaccines are a big assault to the system. I can imagine that combo was too much.

That's great! I can't tell you how many times the ped has talked me down from a ledge, I can get a problem so magnified in my mind. He has a way of turning a mountain into a molehill while still acknowledging my concerns and being realistic. Sometimes I feel like he says the things to me that a husband would if I had one...less emotional, more reasonable. Can't wait to hear more about it.

Yeah! Glad the visit went well. Nothing like a bit of reassurance to make the world seem right again.

Sometimes too much knowledge is a bad thing, isn't it? Those niggling concerns can keep a mama awake into the wee hours. Thinking of you both.
