I need faster skates...

  • I have been completely unable to keep up with blogs/boards recently. I miss it but I am missing my sanity too ;0)
  • I crabbed about a 1h 40min commute to work last week in the snow. I should have known better. Last night it took 2hrs and 30 mins to get home. About 5-6 more inches of the white stuff greeted my area. Let it be known: I.DETEST.WINTER.
  • My new concern of terror is another snow storm from Hades when it comes time for that China flight to depart. I seriously would have to schedule a meltdown for myself if that happened.
  • I am having a devil of a time keeping my mind on my work. I have so much I 'should' accomplish but my head just isn't in it right now. No worries, no one is at risk. It is just that I usually accomplish more than I have been recently...at least at work ;0)
  • Just some friendly advice when you go shopping for family and friends: Gifts are always thoughtful thing, however, if you have a local family member or friend with a registry please use it. Those are the things a person really, really needs.
  • I counted (insomnia strikes) and PIPA has 218 articles of clothing up to 18-24 months size (She's naked beyond that point ;0) Three years gone by will do that to a waiting mama. Still, it is is out-of-control excess and many of these items will be shared with at-risk families through the obstetric clinic in my area. Too much 'stuff' overwhelms me and, wow, did I accumulate the 'stuff' while waiting. I emptied the drawers and my jaw was on the floor. Unfortunately, I did not accumulate the really useful stuff during those three years. Of course, who would want tubes of solidified butt paste from a long exceeded shelf life? ;0)
  • I was on top of it with 'Thank You' cards until last week. I am only slightly unraveling..so far. I promise I will get cards out but it will take a little longer than I thought. There aren't enough hours in the day lately.
  • I received the VISAs for myself and my SIL yesterday. They were sopping under a mound of snow on the porch (Thanks, FedEx, for skipping the plastic bag). If you ever find yourself with a soggy passport in hand, a hair-dryer works wonders.
  • Oh, by-the-way, TA IS ON THE WAY!!!!!! Travel is expected the end of this month or first part of March. I am so excited to get those dates nailed down :o)

We traveled in late Feb/ early March... and it was COLD on the Great Wall! I think that's the first time I ever saw the husband wear a hat. LOL. Don't worry about the snow - you'll get there (even if you have to swim). LOL.

I hear you when it comes to the gift registry thing! Any suggestions on how to encourage gift cards to combine for bigger ticket items. Is it wrong to request carpet cleaning for baby? :o)

Sorry to hear about the wet Passports but so excited that they're now sporting fresh China Visas!! Praying TA arrives soon!

I am so sick of the frickin snow. I mean, so sick of it. It is getting me to move to another planet though. That is a good thing, right?

~Wooo Hooooo!!! The TA is good news!!

~Don't stress about the thank you cards! I think you have a year to get them finished. (Or is that for a wedding) Oh! Who cares! Get them out when you can. Dingle Dorks who sit by their mailbox waiting for a thank you card need to get a life! :o)

~Over two hours in what would be a 15 minute commute is insane.

~ We are off again today at this rate I won't get out of school until the middle of June. That STINKS!!!

~Weatherman says we are going to be in the 50's here on Saturday! I may need a boat to go anywhere Saturday! ;o)

So excited about the TA - YAY!!!!
Sorry about the soggy passport. But as a new Mom you are going to get used to getting things wet, drooled, spit on, etc. Consider it practice!
