I am making a dent in things:
  • Order virgin money at the bank and allow every teller to 'oooh' and 'ahhh' over my Pipaliciousness - check
  • Get additional awful passport photos for the dossier travel folder (as though the first ones weren't hideous enough ;) - check
  • Return ginormous bag of triplicate gifting. I appreciate it all but we'll have to trade a few things for items that will be more useful in the future - check
  • Clear closet space and makes donations to local organizations (it really was time to let go of that beautiful size 2 wardrobe from about 5 years ago) - check and reality check ;0)
  • Upgrade cell phone plan only to be informed the per-minute China rate is $1.99 in addition. Promptly cancel plan upgrade and cozy up to the idea of Skype - check
  • Reschedule hair appointment to week before China because I am thinking it may be the last time for a little longer than usual ;0) - check
  • Take care of getting my girl on the health insurance - check
  • Make a dent in the list of Thank-You cards to go out - check
  • Get more travel details - check :0)
So, I'm coming along. Not everything is perfect and exactly how it would look in my fantasy world. But, I'm quite good with my reality and not much else matters besides getting to that beautiful girl of mine.

Pipo, we used Skype and it was great but your guide will be able to get you a really great deal on a phone card. Sometimes it is nice to talk and not be stuck to the computer.
COunting down the days with you and even Lily and Jacob are excited for you.

We used Skype from Ukraine last year and thought it worked pretty well. Its a little tough having to make all of your calls from a computer, but definitely better than paying $1.99/minute. ;)
You're doing a great job of tackling the long 'To Do' list. ;>)

Great decision on the hair cut timing! Whenever I watch our adoption trip video, especially Day 1 - Travel to China, I say, "man, my hair looks good." (Now, you know I flunk hair. But I got it cut the day prior.. didn't sleep that night.. and it looks like I just stepped out of the salon.) I looked like a psycho-crazy, nervous lady, but man, my hair looked good. And now yours will, too!!!

You are doing GREAT! Getting lots done helps keep you busy while you're waiting to go....at least, that is what I found. You need shots, right? (and I don't mean jello shots.....;-))

I say, you have all your checks in order! Just waiting for: Look into your daughter's eyes, and hold her close for the first time. Let me know when you check that one off!

Hey Lady!
Sam and I both very excited for you! Your little one is just too cute for words!! We can't wait to meet her.

Just a couple of words of advice: 1) Get yourself a small headset to use with the computer on Skype. (It makes it seem more like a regular call.) 2) Download Hotspot Shield (it's free) before you go. Some places block Skype signals and you can use that to get around the block. You may not need it, but would hate for you to be there and can't call, etc.

And, finally have a wonderful and safe trip!
