Do you hear it?!? (click here). That, my friends, is the sound I heard this morning when my injured colleague announced that she was back up and running. I am thrilled for her AND for the rest of us. I didn't realize how much concern was in the back of my mind if we weren't back to 'normal' by the time travel was upon me.
Such joy. For the moment, at least, I feel like I can sit back, sigh, and smile. We'll see how long that feeling holds ;0)
Little quiet out there on the TA front. Ah well, it's not like I have to pack..that's pretty much done. For the BTDT crowd: I bought red roll wrap for the gifts I am taking to China. Can I wrap this stuff before I go or will someone have a fit about that? I'm not packing that big roll.

Wrap it before you go. Most likely, you won't even see the people open their gifts (at least that is what happened on both our trips). The other thing to consider is buying red gift bags and then put your gifts in them when you are in China if you are concerned about security or others wanting to know what is inside.
HALLELUJ-ER!!!!!
We took red gift bags and tissue paper, was much easier to deal with security wise. Maybe you can precut the roll in pieces and fold them?
Red gift bags and tissue paper -- security unwrapped our gifts.
We did red gift bags, too.
If you are going carry-on only, you cannot pre-wrap them. If you are checking your bags, you can.
Whew! What a relief!
Sit back and enjoy!
We took bags and tissue, made it very easy to assemble. I am afraid if you are going to go Carry on security might have a fit and make you unwrap. You could precut the paper and put it in a mailing tube. We took a mailing tube so we could bring artwork back without it getting all bent and creased. Just an idea. Happy to hear all is up and running at your office!

That is super news!!!
That is also a question I have been wondering. I have 2 rolls but I prefer red bags as they take less room and wrapped items once packed, tend to get smushed and the wrapping paper is not a crisp as when you first wrapped it. Don't forget tape too!
Keep smilin!
Wahoo! So happy your coworker is back up and at em!
My COO friend...are you already packed? I bow to you as I just couldn't do it! Heck I'm only away for a week and it takes a small pack mule to carry my stuff to and from the car.
Hat's off to you! If anyone can go COO it's YOU!
Praying you receive your TA soon!!
Next time I need the turn the volume down....It was on full blast! =)
I just love seeing Pipa's face on your sidebar as I'm typing my comments. Have I told you how adorable I think she is?!!
Don't wrap gifts before leaving unless you want to take the chance that Homeland security will open them which will totally piss you off and waste your time. We took gift bags and some tissue and just put it all together the day we needed it. In all likelyhood your guide will collect all the gifts and and you'll never actually see the people receiving them.
CAN I GET AN AMEN!!!!!
BTW, I can't help but hear Ralphie's little brother saying "I can't put my arms down!" when I look at Pipa's new pic in your sidebar... ROFL!
I bet you she really only weighs 17lbs! LOL!
YEAH!!! Bring on the TA!!
TSA won't let you bring wrapped gifts on a plane. Best to plan on wrapping once you are there.
We were told NOT to wrap our gifts before we went -- for security reasons. We were told that airport security would have to unwrap everything. So, we took gift bags and tissue paper with and put the gifts together once we got to Korea.
Gift bags...tissue paper...or pack a little bit of the red wrapping paper (but then you'd have to have tape and scissors too). I think chocolates will be fine!
