Yeah, well...

...spoke too soon in that last post. After some investigating, it seems someone was trying to sneak back to work too soon and without 'official' approval so we're back where we were for another couple of weeks. The last thing I want is any re-injury and even longer time with less providers so I'll suck it up. Drat.

Okay, so don't wrap the gifts in carry-on. Got that. Has anyone had trouble taking chocolate? I bought nice chocolates as gifts and have heard others have gone this route without incident. If someone says I can't take them now I am going to crap because a) I spent quite enough on them and b) I'll be forced to eat it if I can't take it ;0) I seriously don't need to be eating them.

Two days of referrals...ugh. No TA either...ugh, ugh. I will say keeping so busy has made the time fly by. That said: gotta run...

Was wondering. .. have you already purchased little travel hand wipes etc. (individual packets?) I have TONS if you like a few. they are so handy and I'd love to share. I forgot all about having them. Let me know

Chocolate is good this time of year... a bad idea in the summer, though. Talk about messy melted goodness.

We also brought chocolate and in the summertime. No troubles whatsover and the chocolate didn't melt, even in July in China. :)

You should be fine. We took chocolate to Ukraine during this time of the year and didn't have any problem.

no probs with chocolate or any snacks! just packed it all in our suitcases - all of the chocolate (gifts) arrived unscathed. I did have my iPod speakers stolen from my checked luggage between Beijing and Nanning....but that was the only tragedy.

It gets very hot in southern China. We were there in March and it was humid and around 8o degrees fh (felt about ten degrees warmer).

Perhaps taking the chocolate boxes in ziplocks, just in case.

We brought peanut M&M's in July and they did not melt, nor did we have a problem. The only problem, if you can call it that, was keeping hubby away from them!
