My girl loves her purple ball...ah, the simple things.
- C is doing quite fabulous. Sleeping a bit more than usual but she has had a lot going on with the travels and I think she is hitting a growth spurt.
- Mama is hanging in just fine but not as fabulous. I am board-flat tired. It's all good but, I tell ya, I thought I had a very busy life before. Now I feel like I have to schedule time to pee...if I hit it lucky.
- We haven't been getting ANY down time, not even at home, this past week or so and it is taking a toll on me. I'm fine, just a wee grumpy from needing some respite time for the two of us away from everyone for a while.
- Said respite time is not going to happen anytime soon. I will be getting C on the books for surgery. After talking with her ped today, because the fluid in her ears is not resolving it is time for tubes. I'm very ready to roll with it because I am becoming even more concerned about speech development. I want this issue resolved ASAP. Poor kid has probably had a lifetime of fluid and chronic ear infections. I already know she has moderate conductive hearing loss so it is certainly time to put an end to this.
- My bug is walking like a champ now...a drunk champ on occasion but I suspect she'll break into a run soon. Something tells me I still don't know what 'tired' means ;0)
- Judgmental people bug me. I have never run into it so much as I have since becoming a parent. I say they need to get on over themselves. Seriously, I've had it with those who preach the wonders of their parenting and insinuate if you don't do as they did then you are simply inferior. The crack up is when I look at the products of their 'perfect' parenting, they are no better off than the kids of us imperfect folks out there. Each day I do the best I can. Perfect? No. Do I have a happy girl who is coming along very well now? Yes. We're both happy and thriving. Not much else matters to me.
- Off to find an affordable landscape service. My yard is starting to look like the Addams Family lives here! I am NOT taking on that project this year so Angie's List here I come.
- Next highlight in this day will be swing time with my girl after the Early Intervention people hit the road this afternoon. We love our swing time.
- Enjoy...the weekend is coming albeit not soon enough.

I am SO glad you guys are doing well. You will be amazed at the difference after ear tubes. Who is doing them?
Oh yes, I love judgemental parents who think they know everything, yet have very little to show for it :-)
You are doing an awesome job!
So glad to hear everything is going swimmingly...even if you're tired. I have a secret for you...I'm tired too. Have been for 10 years and I imagine I won't truly be rested until Maddie graduates in 2022! :)
If you want to talk about the moderate conductive hearing loss, let me know. Obviously C's is temporary because its more than likely related to the fluid...but it still come with its challenges. Kuddos to you for being concerned about her speech development...and getting her the help she needs! :)
A girl after my own heart....I love PURPLE!!
Get some rest MOM!!
Love, Kristy
Glad you and C are doing so well...and get used to the being tired thing. I've been tired for the last six years!
Your girl has great taste - her Wilson is much cuter than Tom Hank's Wilson.
As to the judgmental parents - heh. I just remind myself that it is their insecurities talking. Sure, I make mistakes. I am totally warping the Tongginator. But it's my warping to do. Go mess up your own kid, your own way.
Glad things are rolling along.
The mention of swing time made me smile. I can't wait for those moments. :)
All good things... nothing better than that!!!
Hope you two can catch some down-time soon, but even in the craziest of days.. you are simply Marvelous :o)
I glad this are going well for you two girls!
I can't wait to see the two of you...we will totally just chill. No entertaining these NC chicks....just let us loose in the magical playroom.
chat with you soon!
Always good to read your posts!
I was amazed that my girl went from "moderated hearing loss" before tubes to near perfect hearing after. It made me sad that she had to listen to a muffled world prior to coming here.
As far as the tired thing goes.... I am tryng to make peace with feeling this way for the next 18 years. Sounds like you are ready to joing that club. Sigh!
Take care of yourself and that amazing kid. Let us know how EI goes.
Great to see update... C is adorable, what I can see over the ball!!!. Welcome to motherhood... Tired is what makes you a Mom..
People who think they can raise your child should just stay in their backyard and mind their own business. We all raise our children the best way for us, which makes us all different, reason we all are not criminals..LOL. Good luck with the tubes. Will say a prayer for C. Linda
Glad things are going well.
There is noone out there that is perfect..
We do the best we know how.. and you will do WONDERFULLY...
Hugs..
Have a great swing time..
Can't wait for those great moments..
Downtime? I think I need Geritol!!
Enjoy!!
Alyzabeth's Mommy
swing time is the bestest!!
No judgemental parenting here.. I know all to well that even the best of parenting abilities can lead to no so great prodigy. ;0) (speaking of myself here)
glad to hear things are going well for you and the wing. Here's hoping for some respite very soon! (or as soon as can be)
Perfect parents? HA! That's an oxymoron for all the morons. Tee hee. Good one, if I do say so myself. NOBODY is perfect. Here's a flash too.....don't tell anyone....we don't have perfect kids either. GASP. Don't ya just LOVE unsolicited advice? You will never get more of it than when you are a parent. Let it roll, sista.
Oh, I know what you mean about those all too perfect parents. As a mental health professional, I think it would be interesting to do personality assessments on those folks. I'm quite certain narcissism would be significantly elevated. Most of them are so self-absorbed that they couldn't see a problem if it smacked them in the face.
I hope the ear tubes help. Our girl had hearing issues from other ear problems, but surgery cleared it all up and she was doing great in no time. Take care of yourself. As I recall, those first few months home were amazing, but utterly exhausting.
