She was spot-checking all perimeters at a family bridal shower today but made sure to stop by and greet her cousin and her little guy. They are only 4 months apart. She even shared her phone with him...that is BIG stuff around here. He must really rate. Of course, she took his John Deere keys in trade. That's my girl :0)
It is amazing to me in some ways that 3 months have gone by so fast. In other ways it seems C has always been here. We have come SO far in such a short time. She has gone from barely rolling over when we met to crawling in April, walking in May, and there will be a flat-out run by June. She is now figuring out that I am going to be sticking around and her behavior is so much more trustful. The screams in the night have faded. She is back to sleeping through 12 hours per night. The punishing behaviors have ebbed. She loves her extended family (mostly ;0) and her playmates. For now, she is doing absolutely groovy.
As for me, I found my groove too and have come a long way as a mom. Knowing intellectually how different things will be does no justice. The reality of the transition kicked me hard but we've got a nice rhythm these days (at least for now). I still feel like we can't put in much change or the domino chain will topple but we ARE so much better than when we were both trying to figure everything out. She's my world...no other way to put it. She has given me such perspective about what is really important in this life. I have no time for nor interest in the petty, judgmental and ridiculous in our days.
I wish I had something profound to say but ye olde brain is too mama tired ;0) Instead, I'll just say something from the heart and that is that I am still in awe of the gift China has given to me. More today than ever and I expect that in three more months I will say the same thing again.

Congrats on 3 months!!
Glad to hear that C is progressing nicely!
Happy 3 months..
Seems like yesterday you were in China.. I soooo love how you write things down.. I know it will be chanllanging at first.. but things will always get better..
You are an amazing mom.. and I sooo can not wait for these moments..
Have a great week..
Happy 3 Months!
Glad to hear that things are better - for both of you - and that you have found your groove!
Your honesty is appreciated!!
When we first arrived home, the Tongginator (12 months) mimicked the development of one of our friend's children (age five months). Our friends spent the next two years comparing their daughter's "slow" development to the Tongginator's more rapid progress. I kept reminding them that the Tongginator was on fast-forward, trying to catch up with others her age.
Happy 3 months together!
what a great post - I know and feel like you do - the petty stuff has got to go. I just did a post similiar to priorities, etc. Life is too short, to much craziness in the world right now to not just focus on our kids and family. Amazing what kids will do to your perspective, huh?
love the pic btw
Wow, three months already. In the great scheme of things.. it really does fly by so quickly. (on this side of referral) So glad to hear you are finally getting into your grove. I knew you would. And now you probably understand why someone like me, who has been there many times before, would choose to once again go back and start over for my sweet girl. She brings such joy to my life everyday. Will there be heartaches along the way, you betcha but the joy outweighs them every single time!
happy 3 months together
Happy 3 months!!! I look at Lauren and my daughter and know wat you mean. I saw Lauren have her first tantrum , stamped her feet and lay on the floor crying... In 2 minutes it was over and I realized she is now feeling safe enough to just go for it. What a wonderful thing! Told my daughter I never thought I'd think that a tantrum was a good thing, amazing how I've changed my mind.
Wishing you more little miracles in your days with C. Linda
Happy 3 months together! I still find myself looking at my daughters in awe and thinking what Amazing gifts from China...and I have had them 6.5 years and 2.5 years. The feeling never fades!
Happy 3 months, and for us it has only been 6 weeks and I ditto your thoughts!!!
She is adorable, and the running thing has me scared. We are not far from walking....so that means running will not be far behind!!
Congrats on three months! (Time really flies!) I thought your post was terrific, and I can also guarantee that you'll always feel the same way about your precious gift from China.
YEP! Totally get what you mean and you will :)
Happy 3 Months!
What wonderful times for mamma and baby girl! Growing and learning together. How neat to hear of all your sweetie's accomplishments in just 3 short months.
You rock mamma and are such an inspiration and great teacher to those of us following behind you....shortly!!
Funny...I think you did say something profound. Congrats on three months a family...
I have been home from Jiangxi for 2 or 3 weeks longer than you. I agree with everything you said. This past month has been so much better than the first 2 months at home. Life is good.
I hear ya! Happy 3 months, double Cs!!! (oooo... I'm not referring to bra sizes, by the way!)
Happy 3 months as a family! It's been so wonderful watching you and C these last 3 months learning about one another. I've loved your posts because they're honest and from the heart. It's not always easy to get into your groove, but I had know doubt you & C would find it! *smooches & snorts*
Happy 3 months!
6 years later and I feel much the same way you do at 3 months. Seems like just yesterday but it also seems like a lifetime. We have been blessed with an amazing gift from China.
Great to hear that C is feeling more secure these days!!
Funny how when the kiddos are doing ok, the Mommys are doing pretty well, too =)
Happy 3 months!!
Happy 3 months. It only gets better....:-)
PS- I have a picture on my blog just for you.
Happy 3 months !!! Ms. C is such a peach. So glad that you two are grovin' in the right direction.
Girly, and before you know it you will be like us and wonder where the last four years have gone (so fast!).
Enjoy every moment, our girls change so fast from one day to the next, if you blink you might miss a moment!
Happy 3 months! I know its been a tough road - but oh so worth the extra gray hairs yes? I am glad that things are getting better, and I hope they continue down that road for you.
Hugs to you both.

Happy 3 months! I know what you mean - I'm still in awe as well. So glad to hear you are doing well. Transition was not easy for me either. But suddenly it was better in the blink of an eye.
Happy Three Months plus One Day!!! :o)
I'm so glad you and Miss PIPA are doing so much better. On one hand I can't believe it's been three months. Then on the other it seems like she's been there so much longer. Does that make sense?
Thinking of you both!!
PS. AussieMum cracks me up!! "Double C's" LOL!!!!!
The timeline pictures say so much... Happy 3 Months together! So much nicer than counting months waiting, isn't it?! =)
I'm so glad you've continued to blog during these first few months at home. You have no idea how much I've learned from you and how much more prepared I'll be because of all the BTDT advice. Happy 3 months!
