Relaxed rider

We're all about kicking up our heels for St. Paddy's Day. (Yes, those are the shoes that nearly brought down the mall.) Usually I am not into such 'girliness' but is was Grandma and friends day so I indulged. This pose is how she likes hanging in the jogging stroller. She 'steers' with her foot. She needs her space to be free that's for sure. As for me, I'm putting a lot of miles on the strollers to save my sanity.

Speaking of space and sanity, I opened my big yap too soon last night. It was hideous in terms of sleep. So much screaming! I decided she probably really was miserable from all the vaccinations and had her sobbing on my chest after giving her another dose of ibuprofen. Then Jake the cat walked by and it was like a switch had been flipped. Instantaneous giggles and suddenly she thought it was party time (oye). She eventually settled down in my bed where she fell asleep cross-wise and spread-eagled. But, if I dared try get up from the remaining sliver of bed, even to pee, the shrieks started. Ah well, at least one of us got some sleep. She is back in her crib tonight and we'll see how it flies. She went right to sleep, staying that way is the trick. I have to say, if it weren't for the sleep issues things would be darn-near perfect. But, the sleep issues are a BIG deal.

I've been telling myself I'm going to catch up on the 700 plus posts in my Google reader. Sorry, guys, I am hitting 'mark all read' and starting over. I have so many to catch up with and so many new faces to say hello to as well. Give me a little time, I will get there. Thanks so much for coming by here!

I am going to go do something, anything, just for ME right now while The Wing in snoring. Hmm..I should consider sleeping but I just can't do it right now.

I never slept when Hannah did...and I don't know why. I was so freakin tired. We had sooo many sleep issues (still do at times). You just always find other things to do... try and get some rest tho. If I could have done it different...I would have thrown things to the side, grabbed a blanket and took a nap.

A couple of words...Sound Machine...start low and turn it up a tiny bit each night...worked like a charm for us - if your house is silent like mine...
(Targ*et) has em for around $25 - She still loves the "crickets" - when she was little it was white noise...

Sometimes sitting in front of the computer is grand "me" time. Hang in there.

Thanks for posting a picture.....I needed to get my CW fix! =)

I hope you had a better nights sleep last night. I hope it's not too long before CW is sleeping as good here as she did in China!

I literally bounced in my chair and said, "YAY!!!" out loud when I saw there was a new pic of CW! Gawd, she is cute! I am sorry that you are having the sleep issues. She is CLEARLY attached to you if her shreiking when you leave the bed is any indication. You are doing a GREAT job, Mama!

Yes, sleeping issues are a HUGE deal; you know I had my share with Tahlia. People kept telling me it would get better, but I didn't believe them. However, I am here to tell you that it WILL get better. The key is to be patient and to follow your instincts, no matter what the advice of others might be.

LOVING those girly shoes ;-)

The sleep issues could still be linering jet lag. Took a solid 2 weeks (after our return) for Mali to even begin sleeping normally again.

For the first 6 months, M got up once or twice each night with the 'orphanage squawk' - but she always settled down quickly & went back to sleep after she heard my voice. I never had to get up, just lean over, pat her back & whisper to her. (She slept on mat next to my bed for a while).

Sound Machine is a great idea. Mali & I both sleep with one on the white noise setting.

Well....you know me and the sound machine. I think it would do a lot of good. All my kids sleep better with one, including ME, as we know.

Tough decision to sleep or blog eh? Thanks for the CW fix.

I can relate to sleep issues. It can make a girl feel like crying...all day long. Your baby is so sweet and I'm so happy for you!

Ok, so maybe I'll just telepathically send you my thoughts instead :)

Sleep issues were a big deal for us too, it has been hard to deal with but it does get better.
