A post from the wing nut:

That mama of mine is really getting better at this gig. Then again, maybe she has taught me a thing or two as well. These days mama and I have a whole new look:

That look started when I got better about this:

It really does work some serious wonders. I'm starting to like that snoozing thing enough that I've done it for 11-12 hours a night the past few nights. I wake up with a pooper that stinks to high heaven but that's easy enough to fix :0) After all, I wake up with a smile too and what's more important than that? If you ask my mama, not too much.

All I know is things weren't so good starting out. We were both very tired and crabby. I'm glad mama and I are getting a groove on now. I got sick of looking at mama and her looking like this:

It was just sad, I tell ya. I think what is working for me right now is mama is keeping a tight schedule of structure and routine. It lets me know what to expect and when things start in motion I know it is familiar and safe. I dig that. It may be a curve ball for mama to be so regimented but she is hanging just fine.

I also find the little song she sings to me every night just groovy...once I got over the actual singing (yikes). Simon would have a field day with her. It goes like this:

I love you -
Yes, I do.

Now you've got a clean bum
And you've got a full tum

So through the night you can sleep
Without even a peep.

Because there's nothing to fear
Mama's right here.

I love you,
Yes, I do.

So, she may not be the best songwriter but it works for me.

Peace Out, folks - it's naptime.

PIPA - I'm so glad you're getting lots of sleep and feeling better.

Your mamma sings a great song. She should copywrite it before Carrie Underwood or some other big wig steals it, records it, and makes tons of money. :-)

Yay! Finding peaceful sleep and a schedule ALREADY!!!! Good for you...that was fast.
It's amazing what a little sleep can do for a mama and her baby. (I am hoping that I find some sleep someday soon too!)
SO happy for you both!:)))
P.S. I love your song too. I make up songs for Lily all the time. they aren't up to Simon's standards either, but Lily loves 'em!)

Now go back to sleep, sweetpea. :)

One of the first things Jim and I learned the hard way was to respect the schedule. Whenever we didn't, trouble would ensue. We'd just look at each other and repeat...respect the schedule!

Hey CW, it seems like you take after your mom with your sense of humor. You are simply perfect for each other. Can't wait to meet you ;-)

A good sleep = a happy baby & mama!
I love your little song....I might have to steal it! I doubt I will be able to sing it as well as you....I tried out TWICE for chorus in the 6th grade and was asked to do a speaking part instead. I told the teacher that I had a cold the first time and that's why I wanted to try out again. As you can tell....I'm still not over it.

Glad to hear that sleep is coming more easily now. That feeling of total fatigue is horrible. I should know. I haven't slept through the night since we went DTC.
