Buckshot...

I decided that post title was more appropriately descriptive than 'bullets' because this one will spread out all over the place.

1) Today's purchase:

Sooner than expected but who am I to buck the trend? The Wing certainly seems to be digging the potty for pooping rather than her diaper.

2) We had our audiology visit today. Good news and bad news. Good news is her inner-ear tested hearing is good. Bad news is she currently has moderate hearing loss due to the amount of fluid behind those eardrums. Ugh. We have been on antibiotics/meds since before we left China. Two different courses. Those ears aren't aren't red and angry anymore but lots of fluid persists. Hopefully we can dry her out or, eventually, we'll end up with tubes.

3) Do NOT mess with the schedule. We got back late for naptime and it was not a pretty sight.

4) Someone swiped my credit card number and charged up over 6K on it. Around 1K on fancy cosmetics and about 5K at NFL.com...that probably tipped the credit card company off. They should know by my spending habits how likely I would be to spend a dime at NFL.com ;0) It will all work out...but it's a hassle. What goes around, comes around.

5) Be proud. I am making phone calls to have someone ELSE service ye olde John Deere. That's a big deal for me to let anything go and not just do it myself. Hey, I'm learning. Sanity is a treasure!

6) Nearing 70F today....when nap time is finished the Wing and I are hitting the great outdoors. I am eternally grateful to have traveled when I did. Coming home in the dead of winter would have been very, very difficult for this mama. I need sunlight.

7) I finally got to the sealed bag containing the clothing that C was wearing when we met. I washed them all by themselves...all 5 outfits she had on at once. The bag just reeked when I opened it. I will tuck them away in a special place for her. I am just so glad to finally have them clean. My poor girl smelled like an old, wet tent when we met.

8) According to my scale (which I don't say is the most wonderful in the world), it looks like my girl has gained nearly a pound since we got home. Woot. She certainly should pack it on with her appetite. I hear about kiddo's texture aversions all the time. Not this girl. She will eat anything that can't get away from her. It's wonderful (for now) because her weight was less than the 10th percentile.

9) Boogie Wipes...get 'em. Your kid will thank you and you will love them. I swear I don't get a kickback (wish I did).

Enjoy...going to be out the door around here again very soon.

Have a great time playing outside. Lucky you to have 70F weather. Mother Nature has been toying with us. The weekend was beautifuly with 60F weather and today we are in for a "wintery mix" - ugg. I guess that's spring in MN.

I just love reading our updates and CW is just such a cutie. Congratulations again on having your little girl home with you.

Never heard of boogie wipes. I must check that out.

What a hassle on the whole credit card thing. How on earth did they get your info?

You know that we are pro's here with the hearing loss and tubes (I think we have done the whole tube thing 5 times now and it's no big deal). Just curious, which audiologist did you see?

Learn something new all the time. I'd never heard of those wipes.

Sucks about your credit card. At least, it'll be resolved with no loss for you.

Hope the Wing's ears get better. I've heard that's common. I'll have to remember to schedule an appt with an actual "audiologist" not just the ped. That hadn't occurred to me yet. LOL!

I haven't checked in of late as I was away for a week and now that I'm home, I'm computerless as my machine is away being upgraded. I'm just getting caught up on your blog now and just wanted to welcome you home. Super to hear that things are starting to fall into place. It takes time but wow, it is so obviously well worth it! Claire is such a little cutie!

Boogie Wipes ~ Who Knew!

So sorry to read about the ear problem. Hopefully the meds and tubes will clear it all up in no time.

I told R about 5K at NFL.com and his comment ~ Who the Hell needs that much from there? I concur! I guess they didn't buy make-up at wally world either. I guess that is more exciting than the person who got my numbers and charged $10 at McDonalds. That was it and the bank locked down my card. Well, it was a McD's in California. Maybe that had more to do with it. :o)

Hope you enjoyed the sunshine!

Poopy potty training already? That's one advanced girl you've got there!

I hope that CWs ears clear up soon. I'm sure that infection is bugging the heck out of you.

I can relate to the credit card issue. Someone got my info and opened up a whole new card in my name. Charges galore! I didn't have to pay but what a pain.

Still winter time here in the south :( Come on spring.

The boogie wipes are cool. Just wish they didn't cost so much.

Pictures....:)

Big J had moderate hearing loss from fluid build up and scar tissue from repeated ear infections as a baby. He didn't talk until almost 3 and that was when we put the tubes in his ears. He hasn't stopped talking since and recently had his hearing checked which came back ALMOST perfect!

Sorry about your credit card...not okay! I hope karma bites those jerks in the butt!

Cute potty!

I've been a longtime lurker (and fellow mama to a spicy Jiangxi girl) and have thoroughly enjoyed reading about your trip to China and life with the Wing. She is soooooo cute!! But the comment about Boogie Wipes was what convinced me to finally de-lurk. Love 'em!!! My DD hates getting her face wiped in general, but those little babies do the trick.

M was an early pooper, too.

Boogie wipes seem like a wonderful thang. Never heard of em.

Glad to hear you ladies are doing so well . . . hope them ears clear soon.

Suckola about the credit card...guess they don't get the whole carma thing.

Can't believe she had 5 outfits on...that's amazing and sounds sooooo hot.

A friend told me about the boogie wipes and I am so going to invest in them. I have always had an issue with groty noogie filled noses. My poor girls lived with mom squeezing their noses with kleenexes and the ole boogie sucker!! So sorry about the credit card wow 6K that's crazy!!! Five outfits, poor girl probably weighed 3 pounds lighter when you undressed her!!! Glad all is going well!!!

Enjoyed the buckshot posting. Sorry about the CC thing. Someone swiped my CC number two different times. The first time, some girl ordered a bunch of clothes from a catalog (I hope they went to the shipping address and nailed her!), the other time, my cc company called asking if I ordered anything from GiftCertificates.com because the billing and shipping addy were different.

Enjoy your beautiful day out! Sunshine is a wonderful thing.

You'll have to post a picture of Boogie wipes for the rest of us-unused please ;)

Just catching up.

Yeah the CC thing sucks. Someone swiped Lane's debit card number and charged about $1K out of our checking account on it a few years ago. We check our bank accounts online almost on a daily basis and he saw this charge for $800, promptly turned to me and said, "What the he.ll did you buy?" I hadn't spent money in days. What's sad is that his debit card was in his wallet! We found out it's not uncommon for thieves to randomly punch in #'s until they get a combination that works and then start charging away.

We have identity theft insurance through Zander Insurance. I think it costs us about $13/month for both of us. Won't live without it.

So cool about the potty. Stylish as well.

Sorry to hear about the CC fraud. Someone charged $15K to ours a few motnhs back and then were stupid enough to try again. Geez!

Glad to hear you got Pipa's Metcha Day clothes cleaned. We did the same thing. It is a nice memory to share later.

That's great that Pipa gained a pound and I must check out those boogie wipes.

Hugs,
Jonni

I registered for that same seat :) Sounds like you're getting some Fl weather up there, that is awesome!

If you get her going now on that potty..I will bet she will be fully trained before you know it! My daughter started out on the potty in China doing her business. That same potty seat was our first purchase when we got home ane well worth it. I only bought 1 pkg of diapers and that is it she was potty trained at 13 months!

Tubes aren't to bad 2 of my kiddos had them. I say don't mess around with the hearing. If they say tubes do it and save yourself more trouble down the line.

It really does suck about your cc! I had that happen too and it is a nightmare! I hate to have to see anyone go through that.

That little girl is such a cutie! Thanks for sharing! I also saw that your blog was listed in the Adoptive Families magazine, way to go!!!
