I figured I better check in before you all give me up for gone. All is lovely here. It has just been major busy and quite fun. I am too beat to download many pictures for now. Suffice it to say my redheaded SIL is quite the hit ;0) We have never laughed so much as in these past few days....continence challenging kind of laughing.
China is fantastic. I love it here and could easily imagine living here (Granted, I have only seen Beijing.) Then again, forget that. I would lose my mind in the traffic. The population is 18 million and there are 4 million cars. Zoinks.
We have done the usual Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Great Wall, acrobat show, jade factory, cloisonne factory, etc. I'll get to those pics at some point. I know you wanna see the 'good stuff' anyway and that happens tomorrow.
In other news, I about lost it at lunch today. It was our first 'real' Chinese meal and, well, the fish staring back at me was just too much....tail and all. Lawdy, the meat market was quite the test of my gag reflex too. You bethca that I stuffed some cheese crackers in my bag before leaving home. As adventurous as I am about everything else, I am the exact opposite about the food.
Our travel group has been great despite having to repeatedly clear up with everyone that even though I love my SIL she IS married to my brother and not me. Whew, that one has been a challenge! Assumptions, assumptions!
Early tomorrow we are off to Nanchang and my wee PIPO. I can hardly believe it. It will be early evening when I meet my girl at last. I am ready. As beautiful as China is and no matter how much I have enjoyed the touring, I am over it. I just want to get to my daughter.
So, all is going smoothly and on my next update you will see who makes everything worth it....my daughter. (Scream!)

HOORAY!!! Sounds like fun (except the scary starey fish!!!) So... I take it, you KEPT your lunch, on the Great Wall?!!!
Safe travels to Nanchang! Thinking of you my friend!
Prepare yourself from now on for those "assumptions". My sister and I get that all the time. Two middle aged women in semi-sensible shoes and a clearly-adopted baby. Of course with me, it doesn't help that my sissy's name is Dorothy, and my daughter calls her "Dotty", which sometimes sounds suspiciously like "Daddy". Yikes! We just laugh.
I can't tell you how many times we here, "Oh, so you're sisters..." Damn busybodies. Who cares, anyway?
Ah well, even with the assumptions, its all good, as you are so about to find out. Good luck. We are SOOO happy for you and your family.
Kind regards from Miami and another single mom,
Carol and Taylor
Sooooooooooooo looking forward to the little one in your arms! FOREVER!!!

Happy, Happy, that tomorrow is the DAY!!!! I can't wait to see you with Pipa.. I already have my tissues by the computer. Have as many there as when Donna got Lauren... and I could not stop crying. It's the thought of dreams coming true that does is for me, and after having Lauren home 5 weeks the beauty and bravery of these wonderful children and what they give us.
We will need pictures!! Linda
I am screaming, and don't think I will be checking the computer a million times tomorrow.

Yeah!! Well, it is now Sunday in China and I'm anxiously awaiting your next post. ;-) Today is your day; it seemed like it would never be here. Enjoy!!!
I've checked in three times today already. So funny about asumptions.
CANNOT WAIT until tomorrow. What an exciting day for you my friend (and for the rest of us waiting and watching)
How fun, wonderful and just so happy! I am so excited for you.... Ins't it funny that as much as you fall in love with China... that as you stand upon one of the Wonders of the World... it just all seems so trivial in light of holding your child...
God's Speed...
Woo-hoo!!!! I can't wait to see your next post. I know you can't wait to post it! LOL.
As to the food, I struggled a lot in China. I have food allergies, so I found myself eating white rice, bananas and Snickers bars the entire trip. I lost about ten pounds.
This is so exciting. Just love the story about your sister-in-law and assumptions. Too funny. I cannot wait to see what transpires tomorrow. Congrats!
We can't wait for tomorrow!!! Yeah!! You are a Mommy!!
Alyzabeth's Mommy for FIVE Months!
Oh Pipo I have monster sized goosebumps right now and it has nothing to do with the 55 degree wind blowing in my window next to me.....It is all about the baby!!!I can't wait to see the two of you together. Can't WAIT!!!
Oh and as far as the food goes...ME TOO!!
Love and so many blessings, Kristy
OMG I am so excited. Tomorrow I am taking the laptop wherever we go. I don't care I just have to see you and Pipa together.

catching up on posts and just loving the excitement in your words! sorry you couldn't handle the fish staring back at you- i was married to a half chinese man (from Trinidad no less), so i saw my share of fish eyes, and having lived in Bangladesh- well, we killed our own chickens in my back yard, all that...
your last word (Scream!)... the best.
and the best is yet to come! thought it IS 4AM on the 29th in China now!!
i meant to say the 1st, duh.
