Not in the mood for the video today so typing it is. This day is not a prize winner:
1) Jake is sick. The vet cost a small fortune this morning just to treat him without testing him. That comprehensive testing cost was out of my league. But, the bottom line is that he was going to be treated either way. There is a physiologic issue. He had injections plus I will be battling oral antibiotics into him for the next 14 days. The first round was an unbelievable work out for me but I got the dose in him. What weird pee issues remain may be behavioral. Only time will tell. That makes me want to cry because I cannot live in a house that smells like a porta-potty at a beer festival at high noon in August. I have an intensive cleaning program planned (in my spare time) and have had to place a box in his desired disaster area in the meantime. That box cannot stay there...ugh. But, I'm willing to do what I must if we can get through it. I so hope we can get beyond this. I love the little hairbag but the stress level for both of us is quite high right now. He cried VERY LOUDLY all the way to the vet - poor guy.
2) I am sick. Low grade fever and generally puny and crabby. I think I'll be fine fighting it off if I can just get a few hours of sleep. Seriously, just a few. I've had so much call crammed in this week that I have done little else...six babies in the last 36 hours. When I thought I could grab a few hours of sleep between babies, Jake was pacing and nudging me (yeah, it's pretty clear now that he is not feeling well). Heh, I don't ask for much sleep but a little here and there would be grand.
3) So, the prevailing rumor is a cut-off of 2-20. It is probably right. Just when I think I am as pessimistic as possible I get proven wrong. Congrats to all who made it. Ho-hum to thus of us who continue to linger. Now I don't even feel a definite 'in' about December. It is what it is and I'll just have to suck it up a while longer....as will everyone else on this ride with me. We've made it this far.
4) I remain shamefully behind on blogs, etc. I think I said 90 something posts the other day and now it is well over 200. Mea culpa but I am going to skim and hit 'mark all read' and begin again. I enjoy keeping up but don't want to be a slave to the computer...hence why I never get around to memes etc. After that 35+ question meme a long while back, I swore them off. So, please understand that I simply refrain from these things as a general rule. It's nothing personal.
Just because I can't end on such a whiny arse note:
1) I filled up for $2.02 today...that was downright sexy!
2) I got my final USCIS fingerprint appointment notice...yeehaw. Ready to be over all of that.
3) The trees are beautiful today...so many colors. I DO love fall.
4) I'm going to see if maybe, just maybe, I can round up those few hours of sleep now. So much for the early vote today. A few hours of silence prevails.
Peace in. Peace out.

Sounds like you're going through some pretty yucky stuff right now. I'm still holding onto hope for you in December.
Poor Jakers! Hope he is feeling better soon. I also hope you'll have all 10 fingers after the 14 days of medicine. :)
$2.02!!! COOL!!!
Get some rest and feel better!!
Ohhhh, sick dog, sick you, sounds like quite a hump day around there. Hope you both get to feeling better very quickly and you get some much deserved rest. I do so love your description of the smell though - quite em... authentic. ;-)
And yes I DO believe that you will be included with December, and I'm not just sayin' that to be nice.
Oh I hope you get some sleep and I feel for you about giving your kitty antibiotics that is insanity!!!!!!!!! Did they give it to you in liquid form at least. I think it's easier to shoot that in their mouth than making them swallow a pill, at least that has been my experience. My kitty had some urinary issues a while ago and I know what you are talking about with the smell. My hairball peed on a brand new kingsize down comforter among other places, it was horrifying. UGGGGGG!!!!!! Get some sleep and take care!!!!!!!
Poor Jake! Poor Mummy, who has to pay the bills and try and medicated poor Jake!
That's alotta babies popping out in 36 hrs!
I hope the rumours are proven wrong... although it is most likely correct. ;(
I hope you and Jake are feeling better soon. I HATE giving my cats medicine.....I feel for ya.
Also had a kitty years ago with some problems going to the potty outside his box....I feel for ya there too. Get some rest and feel better.....That's an order! ;)
It sucks being sick and then having to deal with cat issues. UGH! Take care of yourself and praying and crossing fingers for at least a December referal for you!
I said "sick dog", I see it's actually sick cat. Shows how much I know, I hope your cat forgives me.
Sweet dreams friend!
You are sooooo very close. I am all a twitter with the prospect of your baby girl ( or italian speaking little guy:) waiting for you. Seriously she is there, you will see her face soon!
ssshhh now go to sleep
I hope you catch some sleep and that Jake gets better soon. If you want to appreciate your weather a little more, take a look at the pictures on my blog today. It snowed!
Feel better soon.
Yes, the trees are beautiful indeed. Hope you and Jake get feeling better!
Hope you and Jake are feeling better soon!
Girl, so sorry that you are on call, sick and have fur baby issues! That is the triple whammy. Maybe break you in on being a mom :).
I do hope the rumors are just ugly rumors. I wish the CCAA would do a big batch.....
PS. Giving a cat meds is NOT fun. I just would slightly toss it down his throat. Poor guy, I know that was like choking him. But, if I did not somehow, he would spit that pill back up!
Health to you and Jake. Swift kick in the arse to the rumors. Bring on a few more days, yeah?
Hope you're zzzzing on.
$2.02? Do I live in the last remaining place that doesn't know gas can be bought cheaper elsewhere? Hmmf.
I believe you are on deck for December....for sure!
Hope Jake feels better, I can't and didn't live with the pee-licious odor from my cat. Your stronger than I!
Sending you lots of tea hugs. Get some rest and get better. I'm sorry about Jake, will keep good thoughts for both you and he and my girls send sloppy kisses.
I'm choosing to ignore the rumor right now....I only see weeks at a time in my head and I'm not willing to see otherwise. :)
Hope you can get some sleep and I hope the rumours are wrong. But if not, you're still VERY soon.
**Hugs**
Hope Jake feels better soon. The ex and I had to tear out carpet and padding over a sick cat once. I feel your pain.
Get some sleep now. You don't need to be sick, too.
I hope Jake is better soon. I don't think I could handle the porta potty smell either.
I hadn't heard about the 20th. I must investigate.
Oh, I hope you and Jake both start feeling better soon!
Are his antibiotics liquid or pills? If they're pills, then Pill Pockets (made by Greenies) might help. We get them at our vet. They're just really soft smushy treats that you put the pill in. If he's on oral, I feel your pain, we were there with our cat in August. No fun. I just rewarded her with canned food after I'd squirt the dose in her mouth. She wasn't happy, but seemed to forget about it when she smelled the food. Good luck!!!
Poor Jake....ok, poor you! I guess everything boils down to training for what is next.
I really hope that they get further this month than the 20th. I can't wait to share in the next phase with you.
Keep the p..i...p...o going.
You know for someone in labor, you have really cute feet!
I love hearing your voice...its very comforting, I can bet you are very loved by your patients because your voice is so soothing.
Sorry to hear that Jake is having issues. It may be a territorial thing, we had male cats that did that when they got jealous and maybe he can sense that something new is coming and he doesn't know how to handle it.
Hope you are feeling better soon! We have passed the crud around and around our house this fall and it aint a bit of fun.
Wow, so sorry your entire household is feeling puny. Hope you and Jake are both on the mend soon!
Poor little Jake! If he's anything like my Troi, he hates taking meds. She tried to kill David when he had to put drops into her eyes.
$2.02 for gas!? I thought I had it good at $2.77. I can see that autumn is not the only reason to live up north.
Hope Jake is better soon and that you have rested.
This home stretch thing is killer...UGH!
Here in the Sunshine State 2.02 gas would be a dream come true. I don't get how the Port where it is shipped to has higher prices than inland (and the taxes are not the issue)
Come visit me as the little french boy that we adopted just had an anniversary...HA!
Short time lurker here. Excited for you getting so close now. It will happen.
I was all giddy about only paying $2.99 here in S. Cal! We'd be having lines three miles down if the price of gas was $2.02!
Give Jake a smooch for us and hope he feels better.
Teresa
That gas price IS sexy!
I am so sorry there is the sickness in your casa. I hope ya'll get well soon! I know not what you need right now with referrals looming.
Thinking of ya. Hang in there Chica. Happy halloween.
You poor thing. I am hoping you are getting some MUCH needed sleep. Hang in there.
