Ramblings

1) The sidebar poll for the next cut-off closed up shop. It looks quite neck-and-neck for either the 21st or 22nd. I am glad I am not this LID 2-22 mama-in-waiting or, if even possible, I'd be more nuts that I already am. Fingers crossed for ya!

2) The potty poll results are actually a tad surprising to me because they are also neck and neck. I'm leaving it alone until it closes up shop. Then I will put my thoughts in print about this world-shaking issue. I'm sure you are hovering over the edge of your seat ;0)

3) For those who think I can do anything: sadly, I found one more thing to add to that no-can-do list. I was attempting to make a special gift for a special someone. I felt so motivated and excited to give it a go (at first). The end product advertised looks so cute and, no, it wasn't a quilt. It was an all-new venture. (I'm being vague because the recipient has not gotten the gift yet). Anyhoo, what was supposed to be cherubic cuteness turned out looking like Quasimodo holding a caramel apple and then having an unfortunate meeting with a steamroller. I went to the website and cheated like nobody's business. I ordered the completed item (by a pro) and will send that. Yeah, I'll fess up that I didn't make it. Hey, I wanted too. I just don't want to scar a kid for life.

4) I can't thank you enough for all of your encouragement and kind offers. It means the world to me to know that when I am freaking out about something not understood by those outside the adoption community, all I need do is check here and the hope-and-help basket overflows. Thankee!

5) I am going to have some special visitors in a few weeks. Yep, time to finally strap that car seat into the car and make it official. I'm going to finagle that baby-catching schedule so I can spend some decent time closely watching Annalise be my child-proofing test and enjoying time with her mama too.

6) If you are an Angie's List member, they are having a report drive. If you submit 15 reports this month then you receive a FREE Flip camera. Works for me. I'm just waiting for mine. I certainly don't have to think about making the purchase now that it isn't a purchase! I love Angie's List. I used to have such issues with contractors, etc. Since using them I have had little issue with knuckle-draggers showing up at my door and spitting their tobacky on my porch. (That's as close to advertising as I'll ever get...whew.)

7) Why, exactly, am I sitting here? I have to get my groove on and make the house festive. It's social worker time again this Saturday and, surely, I want her to think I am the Queen of the Fall harvest and bake pumpkin breads during my every waking moment. Okay, not so much. But I do have to trick this place out a little for Fall...being my favorite!

8) Bloglines has been having some issues lately with either no updates or very late ones. I exported all my feeds (plenty of 'em) to Google Reader and have been quite happy with how it is working. So, if you wonder if I've posted anything, please check in. Odds are I'll be posting my bumbito off from here to referral...then probably a lag as I go completely off the deep end....then probably an increase again after home a bit. Who knows but that sounds like a practical expectation to me. Time will tell...and not much more of it :0)

9) Again, thank you. It's nice to know that the wig-outs I've been having are, indeed, a nearly universal experience. See, right now I'm getting all misty!

Yeah, I've noticed the Bloglines problem.

Um, let's see...what else? Oh yes, the wig outs. Totally normal. Completely normal. That is, if I'M normal. Because I had about a billion of them....

I will admit that I have never heard of Angie's list. How cool about the camera though!

I am AMAZED at the potty poll. Quite interesting!

I thought your house always smelled of fresh baked goodness, with all that baking you do for work and all. :)

I am so glad you told me about Google Reader. It works so much better than Bloglines.

Keep posting Woman. I'll love your posts. I think we'll all go into Monologues Withdrawls when you get home!

Hugs!

Have noticed the bloglines problemo too although must admit it makes me feel better not to see my 'not read' number creep any higher than it already is.

What fun that you're gonna have real live help to assist you with the baby proofing test. Hope you have a great time with mama and baby but knowing you I'm sure you will!!

Social worker time is always so stressful. Make the house smell nice and bake up a storm only to have them come in, sit in one chair and narey take a bite of my cooking. Could it be they've tasted it before and are scared off? :o)

Have a great week friend. ((hugs))

I'm impressed with your poll! It has me at a good chance of being IN, in NOV! I really thought, we'd def. be DEC - but know that they've thrown out another day of referrals, I'm actually feeling quite good about NOV!! YIKES!!! I'm so excited, I think I'm gonna pee my pants!

With the "Public Loo Poll" - my choice doesn't fit - I'd be taking a "portable" cushie loo seat. I found a cool "fold up" one in T@rget. Rather my kid be sitting on her own germs!!! ;) But if you're allocated your 4 year old Italian speaking boy... you won't have to worry! Ha! (cept for #2's!)
