One Year

One year together. So very much has changed for both of us. That day one year ago was surely one of the most traumatic of my daughter's young life. For me, it was the realization of a long awaited dream. It is so bittersweet and, frankly, hard to get straight in one's head when joy and pain are so co-mingled. This day will always be of great meaning to me, I gained my daughter for whom I am so thankful. But, my daughter lost an awful lot by that time and I choose not to make light of that by focusing on my end of the deal only. It is a day of great meaning that we will share quietly without balloons and fanfare.

I can't imagine my life anymore without the presence of this little soul. Watching her grow....the time goes so fast!
