First, did someone kill the stork???? Where IS that guy???? At this rate I'm ready for a little Christmas stork as opposed to the traditional Christmas goose.
No, I didn't misstep in the title of this post. Instead, it became clear to me today that things are going to work out for the best. Let me explain:
There are 4 practitioners who share call in my group and we stay quite busy with all 4 of us up and running. We have one practitioner who will be out for 2 weeks abroad over the holiday. This was planned months ago. No sweat, we had it all figured out. Just the other day, however, one of the remaining practitioners was the 'lucky' recipient of a serious injury. She will be just fine in time but, for the next 10 weeks, she is unable to do surgery, deliveries or effectively see patients for exams. So, you do the math. We now have a 4 person practice being managed by 2 practitioners...over the holidays no less. Joy. But, it is what it is. An accident happened and we'll pitch in to make it through. I can say this: the time until referral should FLY by now.
As well, I will be getting ready to travel when the other gal is about ready to come back on line for call. So, we'll keep it going and I will likely be feeling like I am getting the break of a lifetime in becoming a mom ;0) Heh, at least no one can give me grief about my equal time out of the loop once home from China with my kiddo. I'm just glad my partner WILL be okay. I'd rather she take the time right up front and be sure things heal 'just right'.
I'll definitely be travelling COO now...no time to pack. I'm also pleased that no one will be asking me to cover both Christmas and New Years anytime soon again. I'll take my lumps now before my kiddo is home, thank you.
Now, WHERE is that stork????

Could you have the stork pick up our LOA on the way please !
It's funny how things work out.
But what if my letter to Santa actually works?!?!!? Then I'll feel so guilty.
I was also going to say...things work out somehow don't they?
Things always seem to work out for the best..
You will see her soon..
And then you think you are busy now..
JUST YOU WAIT GIRLY..
Time will fly by..
Have a Great Week..
It does all have a way of working out. The timing isn't always to our liking, though.
your right - things always work out. your attitude is amazing and time will now fly by -
It IS hunting season, isn't it? Hmmm....maybe someone should be looking into that.
Better oil your catchers' mitt and polish your flashlight...sounds like there will be lots of catching and peering going on for you. It will def. keep you busy!
Stork is stuck in line at the airport...crazy time to travel!
Keep smilin!
Uh oh....you know what this means right? Since the timing is so perfect for you to receive baby's referral in January she's sure to be tucked under the stork's wing even as we speak! Oh how wonderful that would be except that the timing for a Jan referral is working out so well.
Glad to hear you co-worker is going to be ok!
Yeah that stork where is he! Sounds like the time will fly by for ya, but I'm still crossing my fingers. ;)
Where OH WHERE is the stork? I never felt too much of a fowl gal, but boy do I crave the some stork sightings!!
Geez, I'd better stop prayin' then???!!!
I so agree... I think the stork stopped off to sun himself in Tahiti for a bit?!!!
I've got a feeling the US will start to see babies today (which is tomorrow for you - TuesdaY!!!)
Sounds like the stork is taking his time and will deliver another sad batch.
Damn him.
When that slow bird finally gets here this month.....He's going to need to turn RIGHT back around a pick up your referral and make the trip again! Not much longer now, momma!
You are going to be busy! Hang in there!
I have no idea what happened to that dang stork. He better get his feathers here soon.
I'm a big believer in "there's a reason for everything."
The stork? I thought I heard that he was going to arrive soon, but you know those men. They don't ask for directions. Ever.
I hope that your co-worker heals quickly.
I am thinking that COO will take more time to pack then a big suitcase!! Well at least it would for me - too many decisions to make.
As for the stork, perhaps we should send him a GPS for Christmas!
Things always happen for a reason, maybe you needed to keep busy! Hope your coworker gets well soon, and in time for you to go out!
It's amazing how things have a way of working out, isn't it?
I'm with the other Tammie...I think the stork is lost and won't stop for directions. Somebody needs to send out a search party.
Now is the perfect time for all of this to happen! So glad you'll be working heroically now, because you'll feel a lot better about time off after that. I did a similar thing - worked my ass off and did late nights, etc. Whether or not it was true, it made me feel like I had built up a lot of good will that I could bank on after I brought Elsa home...
Nothing will keep your mind off that stork, not even the hectic and near impossible work schedule you have!
Where is the bird???
Alyzabeth's Mommy!
I too think that the stork needs a GPS or map or something.
I really, really admire your calmness. I don't know how you do it.
Timing is everything; now where is that storky?
I am sending out a search party for the stork!
Love your new blog. Glad to hear you are set for either month. It will be soon... Yippee!
