Up with the chickens and on the road in the early AM for the last round of fingerprints required to bring my kiddo home. Three trips to CIS is more than enough, thank you.Wow, that last post brought you gals out of the woodwork and I appreciate the feedback. I am glad to see I wasn't being 'touchy' in my level of offense at the entitled email. But, that has had all the attention (and more) than it deserves so (insert flushing sound) 'bye-bye'. On to better pastures.

I guessed thirteen to fifteen months. A perfect age. Then again, so is 6-9 months. Or 10-12. Or....well, pretty much any age. :-)
You were NOT being touchy. That letter was RIDICULOUS. Laughable. Silly. Crazy.
I've voted! (both times!)
O.M.G. I've just read your post below and am sickened. I'm absolutely gob-smacked by how some people think. Un-friggin-believable. Just what you need right now, hey?!! Far out. As if this last week hasn't been friggin hard enough - that people take it upon themselves to personally attack your KINDNESS?!!! Good grief!
(not sure if you're getting how absolutely appalled I am at this poor person's stupidity)... I find it hard to believe this person has any friends at all?!!!
;) Happier news... SEE YOU IN CHINA, LADY!!!
Oh yeah... while I'm ranting
I don't invite every kid to my kid's birthday parties either!!! And my kids are some of the most generous, caring kids I know!!!
Geez... I'm seething. I thought my anger from last week was all gone... apparently not!! Is this person in Australia?!! I'll hunt them down for you, Luv, and give a good old fashion a$$ whooping!!!
Ok. I think I'm done.
That woman deserves the flushing sound and an extra courtesy flush. Third time is a charm! You are so close. Hang in there.
I also just read the post below, Wow! Rude is a nice word for the email you received!
I would like to share my joy with you and anyone else who cares to read this....
We have been so blessed by receiving beautiful gifts from many people we have not met. Their generosity and outpouring from their heart just made us cry every time we received cards, gifts and thoughtful comments. We have a kindred spirit with hundreds of adopting families (our bloggy friends) yet have been able to connect with few through quilt square swaps or sending gifts.
We give different amounts and at different times of our lives; our circumstances change and sometimes the gift is a card with a few words of cheer or a purchased gift and sometimes even a homemade gift.
I do have regrets when someone's special day was forgotten, as I know how wonderful it is to be on the receiving end of someone's giving. We are blessed by both giving and receiving with no expectation of any return except how blessed we are when we give.
I am writing this to say that to really change one's attitude (in this case a very angry person, who has an ingratitude heart) is for her/him to begin giving to those around them including the person who did not receive a quilt. If that person reads this, please give to those deserving or just out of love in your heart. Your attitude will change, I guarantee it!
I have rambled enough, so one last thought before "flushing", anytime one is in a downward spiral (from whatever life dropped on them), look around and helping others; it will bring clarity and sometimes an answer that will be uplifting. We can never give too much of our heart in thoughts, prayers, word and deed. Thanks for allowing my soapbox to be used again.

Also, I voted for 10 - 12 months. Our travel group all received babies l2 months old or less (except for us!). We all received the baby/child of our dreams!

Happy fingerprinting - what fun!!!!!
(Trying to be positive)
Voted.
I'm with the majority on the age, with the minority of the Dec. batch.
Good grief, 3 times to CIS. I thought it was bad enough to have to do it twice.
As for that ridiculous email, the toilet is definitely where I'd recommend that it go. How stupid!
I just read your last post and I think we have the same anon emailer... mine was a couple of months back and it was basically telling me that I "owed" it to the IA community to blog more about being a "bi-racial" family and how adoption had affected our life.
So handy having someone to tell me what to blog about and to tell you whom to gift... like a big fat gift! ;-)
Did I send my comment three times???
Are you SURE that your fingerprints have not changed since the last time you got them taken? Obviously it COULD happen if they keep making you get them taken.
Something about our prints and their shelf life I don't get.
I agree with the majority as well.
Hey thanks for the reminder! We did our fingers almost a month ago and have heard nothing yet!! Must make a call.
This will be your last time.
Just think.. it is the last time..
Happy fingerprinting..
It is amazing how our fingerprints change..lol.
Have a Great Week..
This is for sure the last time you will have to do that early morning adventure... at least for this little one. I did ask why we had to get the fingerprints done on my last visit. The answer.... "because this is what starts the process of the background check"... duh... why can't they just run it without inconviencing people to travel so far to do it? Another loop we jump thru for our kids!
Definitely flushing the post. Hey, do squatty potties flush? Or are they like port-o-potties. Just curious. =)
I put 10-12 months. Can't wait to read your posts once you get your referral. What a proud, strong, loving mama you're gonna be!
sorry I posted before I read the comment where you wanted this topic "flushed" but it went along with what I came to tell you about the gift you'd given Jaiden so I thought I'd share it. Hope you don't mind that I kept an old thread going. I guess I should read complete post instead of skimming and reading random posts :P
I voted for 10-12 months.
Good for you flushing it down the toilet. Some people.
I bet the folks at CIS know you pretty well by now! Glad all the bureacracy is coming to an end...
