I found Jesus behind the toilet...and other tidbits.

The week has flown by. I have spent very little time in front of a computer and it has been wonderful! I have kept myself very busy and, as well, had a fabulous family holiday. I hope you were fortunate enough to experience the same.

Can you believe that guy in the picture? Yup, 'cluster ballooning'. He is tied to a lawn chair (consummate fool). But, the elation one must feel doing this (at least before the crash) is how I have been feeling. I'm quite on top of the world because some good things are coming very, very soon now. Try as I will to keep it at bay, the excitement is still sneaking up on me.

So, a wrap up in bullet fashion:
  • I put out my brand-spanking new Nativity set the day after Thanksgiving. Today, I noticed that baby Jesus went on the lam. I think He was assisted to His new resting place behind the toilet by a midnight black feline. Never fear, I removed Him from the unceremonious environment and put Him back in the stable with His cohorts. Balance has been restored.
  • I got my I171-H extension in exactly 14 days. Rock my world, CIS. I'm feeling the love.
  • I recently pulled out the luggage I will take to China. Yeah, a couple of tote bags ;0) Seriously, COO keeps it simple.
  • Back on the daycare hunt tomorrow (ugh). But, it's time to get down to it and make some decisions. This is SO hard for me...one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make.
  • I finished painting my guest room and opened it up. It has been the room where I put everything I didn't know what to do with. I'm a neat freak so it is quite a relief to have that room put together and tidy at last. I feel like my house just got bigger by organizing that mess. I'm going to be moving other furniture around too. I need to free floor space in the playroom. Heh, I should take video of me single-handedly getting a 60-inch round, heavy, wood table up two flights of stairs. This could be quite funny (I'll be safe). Sad that furniture moving is as risky as I get these days ;0)
  • The one unfortunate thing about resolving all that anxiety I had in recent months is that I eat again. No, truth be told, I am very relaxed so I am NOSHING again. I gotta knock it off...holidays or not. Eat = good. Nosh = so much for that weight loss!
  • I also just finished the last of my 5 lantern quilts. I decided to do something different this time. I donated it to a 'Blankets for Babies' campaign. Now someone can feel free to send me an email about how evil I am for not making one for every baby eligible. Yes, I hate to admit it but that message really sapped my joy in the project. I LOVED making them for specific recipients but the love was gone by the time I got to that last one. No more quilting until I get around to my kiddo's 100 Good Wishes quilt.
  • Hmmm....maybe this week I'll have great news to post??? Time will tell. I'll be thrilled if it happens and, if not, I am just fine until it does. I'm a happy camper these days. Life IS good.
  • Cheesecake, anyone? Yummmmm....somebody, stop me!

In regards to your post title - that is what you call a "Holy shit"

Man. What I wouldn't do to be able to type that I too have my I-797 - I am REALLY begin to panic over not having it.....it's been over 2 1/2 months.....but who's counting.

Baby Jesus taking a leave of absence behind the toilet is the funniest thing I've heard all week! We also have kitty in our house that likes to move things around.

I am hoping, praying, and crossing fingers that your referral arrives this week. And as for any weight gain you may have had with nervous noshing...it will be gone quickly after your trip to China and chasing after a baby. I call it the "China Diet." ;)

hysterical that the cat wanted the baby Jesus to hang behind the toilet.

hey, don't sweat the daycare decision too much - if you don't like it, you can always change it.

Laughing at Pug Mama. She "cracks" me up.
Glad that Jesus was found, that you are feeling good and that things are coming together. You have NO idea how many good thoughts are being sent your way every single day. You, my friend, are in my thoughts.

Daycare duty is a drag....but alas it must be done.

Not sure if I suggested this or not....Sophie is at a "developmental" center that is a daycare for typically developing children and children with special needs. 5 Star rating which is the highest in NC, due in part to their low child/teacher ratio. Anyway the school system specialist for pre-k work out of this center, and early intervention people in are and out all day. Check with your school sytem special ed pre-k coordinator and the state EI people to see if where they know of a developmental center.

Good luck!

Maryellen

ps

Hope you have good news this week too!!

My sister was getting out the Christmas stuff this weekend and in the process put out their Fisher Price Nativity scene. My nephew was using the figurines as target practice with his Nerf gun. Nice.

That makes me so mad that someone took the joy out of doing something so beautiful and kind for other people. Some people suck.

I can't believe you are going to China COO. Please do post pictures of how you did it. I am in awe. I can't even go carry on only for a weekend trip to S.F.!

Glad baby Jesus was found safe and sound. Next year baby PIPO will be playing with your nativity set...YES!

Cannot tell you how happy I am for you and excited that this may be the seek that you see baby's face for the very first time. Wow...just, WOW!

So sorry one nimrod was able to zap your spunk for making lantern quilts. People can be so unreasonable and rude and in turn they zap your joy. Sorry friend. Those that you made were beautiful and I know those who received them will treasure them.

Next quilt baby's 100 GW quilt? Wheee!! Now THAT will be a quilt of love!

Love and hugs sweetie. Praying for you and oh so excited for you.

Hmmm...where's the nearest Cheesecake Factory between you and me? Meet you there!

The title had me a bit concerned. =) Send some mellowness over my way, willya? I'm feeling a bit (excited) queasy since I found out my China ETA. I'm hoping it will last at least til I get down one jean size. I think the fact that you whipped out those quilts as professionally and as beautifully as you did is amazing. Looking forward to seeing "your kiddos" quilt. And to finding out her name...this week, right?!!!!

I'm so excited to see where the next batch of referrals gets that I can hardly stand it. I'm obsessively checking RQ just like I did at the beginning of November. Give PIPO her baby already!!!

Can I just say how offended I was that Jesus was behind the toilet. (HA! I'M JUST KIDDING! Thought I'd jump on the "I'm a ridiculous whinger bandwagon"... with the whiney "no-quilt-for-me" lady!!! hehehe... oooo I'm so bad!) Yet another "selfless" act, from yourself, to give one of your truly beautiful masterpieces to the charity.

I didn't have a holiday, and am right, ungrateful about it!!! But then again, we don't have snow in winter - maybe you need the holiday to add a few layers to keep you warm in the snow?!!

YES! Give me some cheesecake! Marble please (white choc & dark choc swirled together... mmmm-M!)

LOL! I just read Melissa's comment - good lord, that girl's sharp as a razor!!!

So....I just wanted to let you know that I am officially offended that you haven't made me a quilt. I expect one....no, wait...TWO in the next week. And I want it swarming with insects of all shapes and beautiful sizes. Spiders, in particular. And perhaps a beetle or two.

But seriously, I am SO excited for you. I can' t believe it is actually going to happen. I can't wait to hear your news. (After I get the quilts, of course.)
